I can't tell if he's a wanker or super-HOT, but he made me laugh several times in the making of this breakfast, so he can scramble my eggs any day of the week. ("Shit, is that my toast burning?!")

I think I like the Naked Chef better. This guy's a little too frenetic for me. And those scrambled eggs look like softened cream cheese. Then again, I've always had a particular thing for redheads, so that may be swaying me.

Oh how I love this man. He can cook for me anytime. I love how he seems like such a hard ass on Hell's Kitchen but I have seen him on some of his british shows and he seems like a genuinely great guy. And...he can cook. I think that makes him the perfect man doesn't it?
Jamie Oliver is so cute too. I love his little lisp. *swoon*

And ... is there a Foosball game in his kitchen? (Maybe I mis-saw that....)
Posted by: MaryB in Richmond | Sunday, April 13, 2008 at 08:26 AM
Oh, Gordon Ramsey, how we love your hard ass ways. And yet I'd love some of those eggs right now.
I'm quite hungry all of a sudden.

haha "and give it to her in bed" hehehe

I record Jamie Oliver's show every week. He cooks in his old England garden or house and he is wonderful! You should check it out...you'd love it!

"Take off the heat, back on the heat, take off the heat..." Ha haha... That was awesome. I love how he just tosses the burnt toast to the side.

Even I would cook breakfast if I had that kitchen! Woof. Not sure about those eggs, though.
Posted by: Marcia Cooke | Sunday, April 13, 2008 at 10:31 AM
That was awesome, and that's exactly how my sister taught me to make scrambled eggs, with the constant stirring and butter (well, for us its smart balance). Except she didn't say it was the perfect way to "give it to her in bed." :)

I hate to cook, so I find it very interesting to watch other people do it. Maybe if I had that kitchen...
There's also a clip for Crispy Salmon - watch how he manipulates the skin side of the salmon once he cuts it to season it. That alone will make you forget "Nice knob of butter"...
Posted by: Paul | Sunday, April 13, 2008 at 10:43 AM
That guy is totally hot. Jamie Oliver is hawt too. I wish I could find one of THOSE to keep me company... lol
Posted by: Kae | Sunday, April 13, 2008 at 10:54 AM
The only thing that might make it better is a pound of bacon. "And give it to her in bed." Snirk!!
Posted by: Roxie | Sunday, April 13, 2008 at 10:56 AM
I've been wondering the same thing (I LOVE BBC America). He certainly can be a pompous ass... but damn. I'd let him roast my tomatoes. *ahem*
Posted by: Stacey | Sunday, April 13, 2008 at 10:59 AM
I LOVE Gordon! He's hot. He can be a wanker... but I think that's part of what makes him hot. Kinda sick, huh? lol.
Posted by: Jean | Sunday, April 13, 2008 at 11:02 AM
I hate to spoil the lustfest but was that eggshell I saw in the pan at the beginning?
Tut, tut.
I'm on the fence about this one...he was in a bit of a hurry.
I like my eggs cooked a little slower ;)
Posted by: Elizabeth | Sunday, April 13, 2008 at 11:08 AM
Yep, got some good laughs out of me this morning also... I would've eaten the toast.
Posted by: marianne | Sunday, April 13, 2008 at 11:41 AM
I love him! and 'knob of butter' ALWAYS makes me laugh!
Posted by: Carol | Sunday, April 13, 2008 at 11:45 AM
Wanker.
He fed a vegetarian man a pizza with meat on it, laughed in the persons face and then chased him down the street harassing them.
Just my personal opinion, of course!
Posted by: AmyP | Sunday, April 13, 2008 at 11:48 AM
Looks yummy! (I'll leave that to you to decide whether I'm talking about the chef or the eggs. Or both.)
But I guess he was wrong - there IS something worse than soggy toast. Burnt toast.

Well, it's a unique way of scrambling eggs . . . on/off/on/off the heat. I'll skip the mushrooms and tomatoes, though. (Blegh.)

The veggies look nummy - and hobbits would certainly approve! (we've been watching LOTR recently) But the eggs are too fussy for me. I'd eat them if he served them, but I sincerely doubt I'll ever make them that way.
Posted by: Katie B. | Sunday, April 13, 2008 at 01:11 PM
Guess I would flunk the scrambled egg test. I've never seen them made that way.
Posted by: Barb | Sunday, April 13, 2008 at 01:28 PM
OK--now that I've seen Amy's comment: definite wanker. Here's a link to the news story. This has me utterly disgusted.

Being someone who is gluten intolerant, I have had such a hard time when people say "oh c'mon, it's just like Atkins"--including my sister-in-law. Nice when people don't respect your need to eat certain ways. This guy had already ticked me off, watching his shows. Pomposity like that is not to be admired. At first, it seems funny and such, but when you realize the level of disrespect and perhaps even stupidity? Not charming.
My husband is a chef, he and I having met when working at the same restaurant. Back then, I didn't even know of my food allergy (just always felt like crap), but was a favorite server for all the so-called "difficult" customers who came in with food allergies as I made sure they got what they wanted/needed. When you cook for others, it's a responsibility that my husband holds himself to. There are folks that may be saying that yeah, I can't have rice I'm allergic...which is not likely at all. BUT they are the ones paying for it, they told you their issue, it's your job to respect that.
All that being said/ranted, yeah, Gordon is hot to look at, but like the hunks jumped in college, he's not worth it. I also hate being told that any one preferred way of cooking something is the "only way to cook" it. pah. I'll make my own eggs. (oh and watching Hell's Kitchen and his restaurant-makeovers makes my skin crawl as he is not an effective leader, he's a commander without flexibility or compassion for where his staff is coming from--nor does he care to find out who's qualified for what just orders and screams. HATED working with those kinds of chefs!!)
...now I'm hungry anyway!!

Wow. Super sorry that was so long. Did I mention I'm due to have a baby at any minute now??? NO excuse for hogging the comments. Apologies.
Posted by: KellyS | Sunday, April 13, 2008 at 04:29 PM
My David would never eat eggs scrambled like that - too soft. I'm not picky, but I imagine that wouldn't surprise you.
Posted by: Mel | Sunday, April 13, 2008 at 05:49 PM
Super Hot????? EW!
I vote for wanker!
Posted by: Debi | Sunday, April 13, 2008 at 08:08 PM
i see from the comments he's the guy from hell's kitchen. as a food service professional myself, i'd never let him "torture" me like i've seen him do. sorry, charlie, don't like my cooking? i'll go somewhere else, TYVM. everything EXCEPT the eggs looked good to me. i got sick off of soft eggs a s akid, and i have to have my scrambled eggs brown and crunchy, lol.

Wanker=ratings. I mean, hello, Hell's Kitchen is on Fox. It's probably in his contract. (He may be a wanker in real life too.)
I like my eggs like that. But his jeans needed to be tighter for that side shot.
Posted by: Michelene | Sunday, April 13, 2008 at 10:36 PM
I can see that bad boy edge. Very very funny AND hot.

I'm unfortunately on the side of wanker, as his wife puts up with an enormous load of shit, has written a cookbook about which he laughs and belittles her in public, and dude, the crême fraiche is a surefire way to make the perfect eggs perfectly slimy. He has a load of talent, but doesn't know how to speak to humans without being a complete prick, and has fallen prey to the notion that his way is the only way. And it ain't. My husband would never in a million years put crême fraiche in his oeufs brouillés, that's for sure.
I have Gordon Ramsey nightmares. Honest.
For the "little bit of butter," I'll take Rob Feenie any day. He's actually nice. Okay, he's Canadian and they're all nice, but still...

Love him or hate him (I love him) - the man can cook. I've been lucky enough to not only eat in a few of his restaurants but he came tableside when I was at his Hospital Road place. Amazing in person. His biography, Humble Pie, tells about a hard upbringing & lots of hard graft so I give him credit for that too.

They sounded so good that I made them this morning. OMG. Best scrambled eggs I've ever eaten, and thank you for the link. I adore Ramsay, but I found him on BBC America before Fox made him a star in the States with Hell's Kitchen. He sure can cook.
