Oh, my mom and aunt in law sing with Sweet Adelines, and my dad in law takes most of the pictures! Yes, competitions are a rude awakening to the SA life... a bunch of woman, usually old enough to have grown children, getting wasted and singing show tunes and drinking enough to put any 21 year old to shame! You'd never know it, because at home they are wives and grandmoms and oh-so-normal looking, this wild side only comes out once or twice a year.

Kind of makes me happy to think that I have something that good waiting when I get old enough to not care how badly I sing :)

you are *so* spot on, it's RIDICULOUS! And whatever. WE *are* freaks. But if we're having the BEST. TIME. EVER., who cares, right?

However, once, when I described MDS$W to a friend, he took a long pause and then said, "So... then it's like the Star Trek convention for Knitters?"

    kinda. :-\

I'm a double freak and I'm laughing my ass off!
