Except I managed to pick enough rose petals to make one more batch of rose petal ice cream yesterday. That is the sugar-and-petal paste that is used in the ice cream. Isn't that just one of the most pretty things you've ever seen? And if you think that's something, you should smell it!
Here is a link to the recipe I've been using:
And it is AWESOME.
And yes, for the umpteen-thousandth time, you can use any rose petals. (Not that I'm cranky or anything.) Doesn't have to be rugosa. As long as they are not sprayed with chemicals and are fragrant! The fragrance is an essential element to that whole nose/tastebud relationship thing going on.
And here, just because it made me feel better, a photo of ice:
Hello, ice. Will you sleep with me?
A suit of ice sounds good. Hmmm... wet clothes in the freezer... This could work!

Lovely rose petal pulp. . . and I'll take another round of ice, please.

The rose petal paste is lovely. Ice will sleep with you or anyone, but it's just sooo predictable.

If I could eat ice cream I'd be right over despite the travel time! But, knowing you, it would be gone by the time I arrived.

We washed and dried our sheets yesterday and then put them in the freezer. It didn't help nearly as much as I wanted it to (heck, I'm not sure it helped at all).
In other delicious things. Lemon Buttermilk Sherbet is wonderful, refreshing and is low enough in both calories and fat to be an almost healthy treat. Yum!

Sorry it's so damned hot in your neck of the woods, hoping it cools off soon! xox

Beautiful ice cream! I have beeen accused of trying to climb into my freezer...and justifiably so! Yesterday and Tuesday the weather phone line listed Baltimore City temperature as 109! The airport (which is probably more accurate for my home...not quite so much concrete and asphalt) was 103....and to think I complained about the snow!

Just to make you laugh - the Brits have issued a Heat Advisory! It's going to get near 87F! Watch out!!!

We've been getting to the upper 90s every afternoon this week, and finally a storm went through today. It's dropped to 77 degrees (although still very humid). I hope you get some of that relief coming your way soon!

The temperature today plummeted to 82! Mercy at last! That rose petal ice looks too good to be true even at a reasonable temperature.
