I have declared myself HEALED (OMG, HEALED -- well, 98% anyway -- and it feels SO GREAT TO BE A PERSON AGAIN) from the elbow injury and whatever was making me feel ill for so long. Even though my physical therapist and the chiropractor suggested I wait another week before going full bore in either the gym or yoga, I was feeling well and strong enough late yesterday afternoon that I playfully polled my friends in Facebook, "Gym or Bikram?"
I'm not sure, given the crazy answers I got, that we could declare a winner in the FB poll, but for me, Bikram won out. Mostly that is because of the wardrobe, but also because we have a brand spanking new studio that I was excited to check out, and I went.
Funny Lynn Davis answered, "I need to know what Bikram is, but if it's food or drink, I vote Bikram."
I explained: "It's hot killer yoga that feels so gooooooood, and yet at the same time you wonder if you aren't just a touch of a sadist for having participated."
And that pretty much says it all.
But it was sadistically GREAT. And wow! Is the new studio ever gorgeous! Every time I've been away from this yoga for a while I am reminded how much I loved it. I'm not gonna lie -- I had some owie moments with the elbow. But I was as careful with it as I think I could be, and I iced it pronto when I got home. So we shall see how it fares in the next few days.
------
Abigail sent me this; she found it on Cute Overload. If you thought the cauliflower sheep were cute, you're not going to be able to BEAR seeing this. Don't say I didn't warn you.
Boy, you aren't kidding. I so love the pronk.

That sounds like our Carrie...
Love that lamb! We raised sheep when I was a kid - during lambing season there were usually lambs in our living room, warming up by the woodstove or waiting for a bottle. (Lambs on linoleum has a lot in common with pigs on ice...)
Glad the yoga went well!

Awwwwww!! Cute little guy! I hope the yoga didn't put you back in the elbow department. I tweaked my hip flexor badly in a class a few months back, went back to exercising a couple days too soon, and ended up with it hurting even more. If I had just waited a couple more days before returning, I wouldn't have had to go through another week or more of pain. Hopefully, that won't be your experience. You have suffered with it for long enough!

So sweet!

Carrie was right. You should have had cheesecake after the yoga.

Cute video! I'm afraid to try Bikram, but happy to have found your blog. Followed the link from Claudia's, and your b'day rant was wonderful, though the link to F@*k the South sealed the deal (hilarious - and I'm from the South!)

After a not-my-choice break from yoga, I usually end up getting . . . choked up. . .when I get back to it. Yoga is just like that! So glad you're back. (And that lamb! Now I want one! But they probably poop. . .)

I am still a little sad that Bikram is not some swanky club. Glad you liked it though!

Good luck with the yoga v. elbow situation.
Bea (or Bee or B) is too cute!

And I also love that I am now "That Carrie", and that I get some seriously strange looks when I tell people some of my friends call me Kitten...

Kudos to Abigail for finding a stotting lamb. Congrats to returning to yoga, I'm off to class soon.
Today I was involved in the annual spring poop scoop--the weather is warmer and the glacier that was the backyard has retreated sufficiently to reveal...While passing through the garage for another empty feed bag (how's that for recycling?) I saw that the daffodil I had plopped in a patio pot was sending up not only leaves, but also a bud, SO reassuring!
