Yay! It's so nice to hear that our scarves are making someone's life a little prettier and happier.

    Carole

That's a great post about the scarves! Just what we all want to hear.

    Geri

What a sweet note! Reading it makes you want to knit more!

    Anne

Right on. THAT is an awesome blog post. Makes it totally worth knitting every stitch of a scarf for me!

    Bev

Oh it makes me want to knit a scarf right now (I've bought the yarn already) but I need to do a couple of other projects first! Thanks for sharing it.

    Mary Fran

Done and done! (and mentioned your name :)

    Carol

Thanks for sharing that story. I just cast on for a Red Scarf two days ago. I try to knit a little bit of good karma into every stitch, and I hope the person who receives my scarf is like Chelsey -- not to write to me, but to realize that strangers really do care. I get all mushy just thinking about it!

    marianne

Now that was sweet and thoughtful!
    Opal's stitch markers are GORGEOUS!

    Evelyn

Wow your blog looks so much better on my laptop than it does on my handheld!
Thanks for posting the OFA thank you letter, I'm halfway through my first ever red scarf project and that's just the boost I needed.

    Joannah

Thanks for posting the thank-you letter. I hope all of the scarf recipients feel the love that goes in to each scarf.

    Jean E.

Thanks for the links. I mentioned your name for the markers.

    Linda M

Thanks for sharing the message from OFA. It is a joy to read. Do you know the pattern/stitch of the big chunky scarf with the fringe Lynn is holding in her left hand in the photo? I'd like to try it for one of mine.

    Lynn in VA

LOVE THIS!!! I've met some of the recipients (as have you, Norma) and they are always so grateful. Every single one of them, women and men, is blown away by the idea that a stranger would take the time to make something for them.

    Diane H.

Loved the message from the scarf recipient! The student's genuine appreciation was the next best thing to one on one communication with "my" students. Thanks to you and OFA for sharing the email.

    Elaine

That thank you note was so sweet! I can only imagine the uphill struggles Chelsey faces every day.... and if a simple scarf can help her, then we'd better keep on knittin'! And you know that she'll "pay it forward" to some one else, someday. Thanks to you, Norma, for spearheading this whole wonderful project.

What a wonderful post. Thank you for sharing with us, The Norma.

    Aren't Opals markers lovely?

    Robin V

Thanks so much for sharing the OFA post. Sending our scarves into The Void is sometimes a bit disheartening - sharing with each other on blogs and Ravelry helps, but reading such kind and thoughtful feedback really motivates me to Keep Knitting Scarves.

perhaps we could call our selves and ofa

a circle of blessings ourselves and ofa

takeing care of our young*** thank you norma

    Suzanne

Thanks for sharing. I have been thinking about what scarf I want to make this year.

    Debora

Thanks for posting the thank you -- made my day! And thanks for the intro to Opal -- she does some nice work.

    PghCathy

Thanks for the link, Norma. It's nice to read the thank you...even if it isn't specifically for me. I have 1 scarf finished for the fall campaign & more yarn in the stash, just waiting to be knit.

I'm a long-time lurker who rarely de-lurks to comment (I'm bad, I know) but I love your blog and your "this is my view and if you don't like it then don't read it" personality. Anyhow, I'm a social worker in child welfare and I love your dedication to the OFA.
