When it came time to write a blog post tonight, I did something I have almost never done before, but that some others write that they do all the time: I sat and stared at the screen trying to think of something to write. So I'm crying uncle and slapping up this photo of the scarf in progress, and going to bed.
I've separated the red and the blue seed stitch with a couple of gold garter ridges. I hope it's a pleasing combo in the end. Right now I'm not so sure I like it. The scarf will be about 2/3 blue, with just a touch of gold and a red stripe down one side. Could be interesting and great, or could be weird. I hope it's not the latter. I'm too tired, sore (from a killer workout at the gym) and wrung out to make a decision about it right now.
(Morning-after addition: The yarns are Knit Picks Swish Worsted in Fired Brick and Saffron, and Mission Falls 1824 in Denim. I cast on 293 stitches, using a US 9 needle, which I hope will result in a scarf approximately 60 inches long. In the morning light, I really do like the color combo.)
Looks great to me, and you KNOW someone will love it.

I think it's perfect, don't change a thing. Yes, it will warm someone's neck and soul.

Nice color combo...I love the effect of blue and orange next to each other. Nice job...now get to work on it!

Ditto on the like it.
I'm having trouble settling on a stitch pattern for The Third Scarf. Still have enough of the super sale wool/silk in true red. Wanted to like "my so called scarf" for the woven look but decided that (1) it wasn't great in this yarn/gauge and (2) if I need to do this quick-like, I better not chose a pattern that has me knitting stitches twice! Tonight I will get on with just doing it.

You are so clever with color. Among other things.

This looks great to me! I have a garter stitch scarf that is over the halfway point (I started it Friday afternoon). There's definitely time for more scarves!

Love the color combination -- a takeoff on the three primary colors. I used a similar combo in the baby Einstein sweater I made for a friend but using WotAndes. Great minds, etc.

I think it will be great in the end. And I have to say that Swish in Fired Brick is a favorite of mine - I used it a couple years ago for a Red Scarf. I should really just keep it on hand at all times!
