Red Scarf No. 4 - Seed Stitch
Cascade 220, Color No. 9404
(Most of 2 skeins used)
US 7 needles, 29 stitches wide
Finished dimensions after blocking: 6.25 inches by 68 inches
----------
And after I completed it last night, I cast on another:
As you can see, I am not yet tired of the seed stitch, and it goes really fast for me. I had a little bit of Knit Picks Swish worsted in Fired Brick left, but not enough for an entire scarf. I decided to maximize its impact in a stash-busting lengthwise-striped seed stitch scarf. After I finished the Cascade 220 one while watching a movie and some basketball yesterday, I went ahead and cast on 293 stitches on a long-cabled needle and started knitting more seeds. I've completed over an inch in width. That's a sixth (or a fifth if I stop at 5 inches wide, which is a possibility) of the way completed. Already.
Who says there isn't time for a scarf before December 15th?
Nice photos! Did you use a long-tail cast on for the 293 stitches? I am always afraid I am going to run out of yarn.

My arm would be in a sling, and I'd be in a rubber room if I did that much seed stitch.... You are an inspiration!

Happy Belated Thanksgiving! My "Norma's Birthday Scarf" was mailed a couple weeks ago. I'll have to ask my MIL if she mailed hers, I know she knit a couple. My first seed stitch napkin is almost done. I'm having faith in the way the linen is supposed to wash up, right now, not really digging it. Pictures soon.

BeeUtiful! and I'm lovin' the orange with the red on the newest on the needles! Tossed through the stash and find I need to hit the lys for more red to knit another scarf. Tomorrow. :^)

I wasn't going to knit a scarf this year - lots of holiday knitting to get through! - but changed my mind yesterday. However, for something completely different, this year's Red Scarf will be grey!

The seed stitch looks great. I'm making good progress on mine. I have high hopes of completing it on time!

The joy of being 63.5 inches tall, is that all I have to do to measure my red scarf is stand up. Last night it reached my shoulder. The not-joy is the fact that it seems stuck at my shoulder as of this commenting...(sigh).

I can't even remember -- do you knit English or Continental? I like seed stitch too, but only since I switched from the former to the latter.
