Artificial Tongue Is Sweeter Than Real Thing
UM. I DOUBT IT.
But here is the article. Which of course was not at all what I hoped thought it was going to be.
As Cookie is wont to say, I'll be in the naughty corner if you need me.
In the meantime, you can have a look at my ta-tas.
Wait, you thought I meant.....?
Oh, then here you go:
Woof!

That was my thought, too. /sigh
At least, I have company in the naughty corner now.

Yummy looking tomatoes!

Gorgeous. sigh....

Ah, Norma, my gardening hero. I live in the South and have not managed to have such beautiful produce. Maybe next year now that I have figured out how to slay all those tomato worms.

The lovely vegetables prompted me to tell you that I made your oven omelet (broccoli, spinach, corn, and some goat cheese) and it was fabulous. My in-laws and my children loved it. Thank you!

You have the best looking tatas I've seen (next to Cheryl's, hers are in MY kitchen). ;-)
Posted by: margene | Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at 07:23 AM
I'm green with envy of your tatas -- ours have too much heat (New Mexico does that) and start splitting. Enjoy!

I'm jealous of the tomatoes. Mine are a complete disaster. I was looking forward to oven drying the usual bounty. Not this year!

Ugh - I hate the neuro-toxins in all those fake sugars. I won't even put them in my house. I cringe when we host parties and I feel compelled to purchase diet soda. Icky, icky stuff.
On the other hand, I LOVE the tomatoes and other gorgeous produce. I can almost taste the BLT or the Caprese salad (with home grown basil, of course). Mmmm.

Nice Tommy toes. Mine are still green. I'm not worrying yet, though. It's only August 19. We may get one or two before winter sets in.

I can taste those tomatoes, still warm from the sun. Gorgeous.

You're making me miss my Dad's garden back home. Hoping that next summer is the summer we start our garden. I'll be looking through your archives for advice...

Oh! They're so red and ripe and not-green-like-mine! I have loads... all green still. What's your trick? I'm deeply jealous.
Posted by: Kelly | Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at 09:08 AM
Looks like you are the only one not affected by the blight this year! Gorgeous veggies. Very jealous here. I don't do artificial sugar. Period.

Beautiful tomatoes! I picked my first ripe one this morning. From the look of things, I may get five ripe ones this year and plenty of green ones. This is not how August in the garden was when I was a girl (and walked five miles, up hill, in the snow, bare foot, each way to get to school!)

Tomatoes and broccoli at the same time? Not in Middle Earth. That is amazing!
Posted by: CindyCindy | Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at 09:46 AM
I dutifully read every morning around this time and want to thank you for brightening the beginning of my day. Your tomatoes are gorgeous. I'm beginning to wonder if I bought tomatillo plants instead of tomatoes this year, because all I have are small green useless tomatoes.

...you crack me up!!
Beautiful ta-tas, I mean tomatoes.
Posted by: Renee | Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at 09:47 AM
Our tomatoes near the sea are still tiny, green and very few because of the constant rain and cold in June and July. I note that here at the fabled Trapp Lodge they use that red plastic mulch for their tomato bed, but their tomatoes are still tiny and green, too. What is YOUR secret?

Well Hellooooo Naughty Corner!
Posted by: marianne | Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at 11:22 AM
I'm awfully glad that you're back. I've enjoyed your blog for quite a while without ever posting a comment. I realized that without any response it might feel like talking to yourself.Ugh!

Oooo, I love your ta-ta's, all full and firm. The onions don't look bad either. And the lettuce is looking nice and crisp, too. And broccoli! So green, so crunchy! Ever take the stems and peel them and just eat them like carrot sticks? Not close to the root where it's woody but up nearer the florets where it's tender and sweet! Mmmm, my mouth is watering just thinking of it.
As for the naughty corner...nice to see you here. I thought the same thing, but then my friends would tell you that I have a permanent residence in the naughty corner.

Gorgeous veggies! And thank you so much for the Roasted Kale recipe a while back. Made some for a dinner party last night and the whole enormous bowl was gone in a flash! Huge hit. I'm thinking that next time I might sprinkle a bit of fresh thyme on them with the sea salt.

I love your blog, Mr. Jefferies and the pride you have in your daughter. You have inspired me to garden and blog on my own. Everyone over 50 should be so lucky to have tatas like yours :)

I guess I should quit being a lurker and comment. I love your blog. YOu keep me up to date on the UVM city and VT in general. Used to live in the UVM city and still have a deer camp up on Camel's Hump on the Richmond side. I miss VT in the summer, but not the winter. Take care and please keep blogging. You make my day. Dee

Hey Norma, Many thanks for the vid of Mr.J and his brushing method. Tried it out on my 5yr old terrier last night and it worked! Take the brush to the dog and not the dog to the brush--DUH!!!! (I'm doing a jig now, my fingers are intact!!) By-the-way we've had blight here so no tomatoes. Glad somebody got some.

My what nice ripe firm ta-tas you have...
And the tongue thing? My first thought was the battery powered ones that are supposed to...
Going back to my corner now. /sigh

You got me....

Your tatas are gorgeous!
Despite my lack of sense in placing my little garden in the shadiest part of the yard, I am getting tomato (blossoms, no fruit yet) and peppers (actually ripening on the plant). There might be hope for me yet! I don't think I would have tried gardening again if it weren't for your enthusiastic gardening posts.

my tomatoes stink this year! Picked 12 more cukes tonight though. I'm heading to Burlington next Thursday and Friday. Want some cukes and eggs?

I've been eating tomato sandwiches for lunch. The good kind, where the juice drips off your elbows...
It's getting kind of crowded here in the naughty corner, isn't it?
Posted by: gayle | Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at 08:38 PM
I'm still hanging--What is it with the comments?
I have to grow the quick maturing Czech tomatoes (even tho' I thought last year's Siberian was a prettier plant) cause produce in pots in Colorado is challenging, but my only feasible option now. Happily I don't have to share (the tomatoes).
