This came to my daughter in one of those viral emails. MAJOR FLAW: YOU'RE LIMITED TO TEN TIMES A WEEK FOR HOW OFTEN YOU WANT TO EAT CHOCOLATE. Are they nuts????? That'd be four times a DAY for me. [Well, bummer. The images didn't come through, even though they showed in my preview last night. Ah well. Happy birthday to me.]
Anyhoo:
YOUR AGE BY CHOCOLATE MATHDon't tell me your age; you'd probably lie anyway-but the Hershey Man will know!
YOUR AGE BY CHOCOLATE MATH
This is pretty neat.
DON'T CHEAT BY SCROLLING DOWN FIRST!
It takes less than a minute .
Work this out as you read .
1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like to have chocolate (more than once but less than 10)
2. Multiply this number by 2 (just to be bold)
3. Add 5
4. Multiply it by 50 -- I'll wait while you get the calculator
5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1759 ..
If you haven't, add 1758..
6... Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.
You should have a three digit number
The first digit of this was your original number
(i.e., how many times you want to have chocolate each week).
The next two numbers are
YOUR AGE! (Oh YES, it is!!!!!)
I don't get the images... (I mean that I get little question marks, not that my brain isn't processing the images.) Anyway, this is an old math problem. I always knew you were sick, but to publish story problems on your birthday?!
My kinda woman! ;)

It worked, but I was hoping that the number would be the number of times you should have chocolate in a year.

It's too early for my brain to do math. Even chocolate math...

This is crazy! The husband and I went for a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway this morning and stopped at Nancy's Candy Company (website www.nancyshomemadefudge.com) and this Chocolate Math was hanging in the store. Now I come home and you have the same little quiz! Too funny! Have a great birthday Norma!! Chocolate is a must for you today and Chocolate Martinis are terribly good!!

Happy Birthday, dearie! Hope it's marvelous. I would have written earlier, but I was up at 5:30AM(!)to get ready to go set up for the Pittsfield Art Show, where it was blisteringly hot and not conducive to the purchase of yarn. It was a nice day anyway. I'm glad you have Abigail there to celebrate. My daughter had her birthday yesterday, and mine is a week from today. All the best people ARE born in July. Also, in my family, all the bright people are left handed. ie.:not my ex-husband, just the kids and their mother.

Happy birthday, Norma! You're making me think that turning forty next year (yes, I'm a decade behind all the cool kids) could be the start of something great. Can I be more like you when I grow up? ;)
