I have been trying to write a post about red scarves, and it's just not coming out right -- too preachy and soap-boxy and sarcastic, even while I already know I am preaching to the choir -- all my blog readers and the people in the Red Scarf group in Ravelry are the ones I don't need to say this stuff to -- so I'm spending a lot of energy and angst on something that is completely misplaced. Therefore, I am taking a step back on that, and maybe I'll just let it fizzle out. Meanwhile, I'm knitting on mine, which is good. I do really LOVE the color.
Mr. Jefferies will be here tomorrow. There will be absolutely no soapbox or preachiness or sarcasm from him, so come on back then, OK?
I'll bet Mr. Jefferies is smart enough to learn to knit. I know he'd want to make a red scarf, too.

So, spill the Red Scarf message. Not all of us are already part of the choir.

Ok, but you know, I enjoy it when you jump up on your soapbox and get all preachy and sarcastic. :^)

I've never felt you were preachy. Then again, I'm in the choir on this one. So what DO you want this year for the group? Scarves or cash?

Why don't you just put a Red Scarf Project button at the top of your sidebar? Then when you mention it in passing people will be able to join the choir if they wish.

Eh, go ahead and preach. Just throw in some salty language to freshen it up.

Go ahead and preach if you want to. We can take it.
Would a garden related question/rant distract you? :) Why on earth are the zucchini, squash, melon, pumpkin and cucumber plants only making stupid impotent male blossoms? (google hits, lol) For weeks now we've had baskets full of the buggers. I want some courgettes already!! /rant

So what's up? Not getting the response that used to happen? Need to kick us all in the butt to make more scarves? Just get it off your chest, grrl.

OK - for some reason a picture of doing yoga while wearing a red scarf is coming to mind. Deep breath. Exhale. You're doing a great thing. Whatever is getting under your skin.... let it go. (Maybe it would be a good day to attack some weeds!). Breathe. Exhale.

Is this about the attention whoring Red Heart knitting slags who think it's all about them? The ones who need attention on the interwebs because they are without love in the real world. Or is this about the attention whoring dumbasses who think you need help from some unworthy corner of the world to get the word out because they aren't smart enough or aware enough to know how bit a mistake that is? Or is there something new out there?
Yeah, I'm on a roll today. Be afraid.

But I wanna hear soap-boxy sarcasm, even if I am one of the choir.

I hope you find relief soon from the angst and are able to direct energy where you would like.

Norma, I've never (yet) knit for the Red Scarf Project, but I have adopted two children out of foster care, so the cause is close to my heart as well. I'll be picking up some red yarn this week and knitting two scarves in honor of my two amazing adopted sons. Thanks for the inspiration - soap box or not.
