5 things about Norma's blog in honor of her 5th blogiversary:

    1. Do NOT drink anything while reading her blog - liquid shooting out the nose hurts.

    2. Winter in Vermont lasts ten months.

    3. The Red Scarf Project is a beautiful thing.

    4. Gardening is serious work.

Here's some random 5 useless information:

    • Almost all amphibians, reptiles, and mammals which have fingers or toes have five of them on each extremity.

    • It's the atomic number of boron.

    • The most destructive known hurricanes rate as Category 5

    • The most destructive known tornadoes rate an F-5

    • In Greek Orthodox Christian mysticism, the number 5 symbolizes the Holy Spirit as the bearer of all life.

    • The Khamsa, an ancient symbol shaped like a hand with five fingers, is used as a protective amulet by Jews; that same symbol is also very popular in Arabic culture, known to protect from envy and the evil eye.

    • According to some traditions of Maya mythology, we are now living in the Fifth World.

    • # 5 is an album by Lenny Kravitz.

    • On most telephones, the 5 key is associated with the letters J, K, and L, but on the BlackBerry it is the key for G and H.

I think this one may be the most appropriate for you:
In the United States legal system, the Fifth Amendment to the United States Constitution can be referred to in court as "pleading the fifth", absolving the defendant from self-incrimination.

    Happy 5th Norma!

    Nancy

    I like the scarf kit.

Question - do you start planting you garden seeds indoors or do you buy plants at the local nurseries? I'm starting to think about planting a "Norma Garden" this year. You've such an inspiration.

    My garden is Norma-ed now.

(that's five, right?) When I showed my son the pictures of your garden, he wanted his to look like that. When I told him his would look like HIS garden and no one elses, he was fine with that, and proceeded to plan what he wanted. He's already planning for this year!

    Brenda

How did all of those other commenters get so creative so early in the morning?
