Claudia (and others), heads up! Carol brought to my attention a most excellent free garden planner on the Gardener's Supply website. This is a GREAT tool for knowing how much of each plant you can put in each square foot of your grow bed. Yippee! I am notorious for overplanting. Sometimes it works to great advantage, but most often I wish I had done better planning. This tool is going to be great for that.
Oh man. More web procrastination devices and I don't even have an in-ground plot!

I will have to check out that tool. I just keep thinking about eating fresh green things.

That was a great site. I got distracted for a good 15 minutes. I love the composting pails. Hmmmm. This might be a good thing.

Are you still reading Pioneer Woman? She's doing a lot of gardening stuff right now, including posts on how to build a raised bed.

I like it! Thanks Norma and Carol for pointing that out!
Carole...Pioneer Woman needs to be introduced to lasagne gardening...

Is there anything that the internet does NOT have?

I got the e-mail from Gardener's Supply a week ago announcing their Garden Planner. Had fun playing with it.

That was fun to play with. Virtual gardening to tide me over until real gardening can begin.
Though I question the one sq ft per broccoli plant - mine always get way too big for that...

Thanks for the link. This is my first year gardening in my new raised beds and the information will be great.

Great timing! We're building a seed starting rack this weekend, I plan to start things on Monday or so. Lights, heat, the whole nine yards. That planner will definitely come in handy. I've got lots and lots of bare ground! Yay! Hopefully I'll connect with my mulch and poo guy this weekend and get that set up. I know I'm being wayyyy too impatient but I'm eating sprouts like Bessie the Cow and need some greens.

I was on that site for ages! Just wish it had more vegetables to load up.

They say you can fit 16 leaf lettuces in one square foot? REALLY??? I don't see how . . . Also 9 spinaches. Hmm.
