Oh, this is just so damn hilarious. And I'd love to tell you why, but I can only tease you with this comment from my wonderful Claudia:
I can ask Norma anything.
(srsly. happy blog day)
Because she is RIGHT. She can ask me anything, and I will answer. (It's not because she's a lawyer, either -- at least I don't think so. Heh.)
And when I landed on her name after asking My Random Number Generator for a number from 1 to 184 (the number of entrants who were on time and etc., though my rules are pretty, shall we say, flexible), I literally laughed out loud.
Am I a pain in the ass? Sorry to be giggling over here in the corner about a private joke. That is truly in bad form -- I do apologize. Will you forgive me? How about if I choose a second winner, as well? Will that do it? Comment today before midnight Eastern (Daylight Friggin' Savings Time) for a second-chance drawing.
Oh, we do have fun. I love you guys! You rocked my world with your wonderful and creative and loving comments. *mwah*
I can't figure out where you want me to comment...and I'm sure I CAN'T be the first to comment, so I may be totally off base on this!!
Posted by: Amy | Sunday, March 08, 2009 at 01:44 AM
I can never remember if we spring INTO friggin' DST or OUT of it. LOL
Anyway, right now, it's 11:04 Pacific (whatever) time BEFORE the official spring forward mark. :)

I think I'm after the deadline, but who cares!
I hate to FROG, but I love FIBER, so I put up with achy FINGERS and FUSS with the yarn while reading Norma's super-FUN blog!
Posted by: Stacey | Sunday, March 08, 2009 at 03:47 AM
You are a riot-even if I don't get this particular inside joke. I'll let it slide his time!
Posted by: marissa | Sunday, March 08, 2009 at 03:52 AM
Here's a comment-- it's cool that Claudia won because she gives good blog too and that deserves a reward. Yay random number generator!
Posted by: Joan | Sunday, March 08, 2009 at 05:44 AM
Spring Forward, Fall Back. and for the record I LOATH all this crap of changing the clocks. My dogs hate it too. Spring isn't as bad as fall but seriously, it's a bunch of crap.
On the other hand it is truly spring today. Wes saw a skunk walking down the sidewalk just a few minutes ago.

I'm barely keeping up with our own time change (back in December... I think), so I won't even check how it matches yours today...
Thanks for introducing me to Claudia's blog!

Hmmmm... a comment. Since we can ask you anything, what is the private joke. :D Just kidding. Well, not really.
I had a confusing morning with the change. Ugh.
Happy Sunday Norma!

I love daylight saving time! If you work a full time day job and want to do anything at all outside - it's one of the prime days of the year.
Posted by: Kate | Sunday, March 08, 2009 at 07:57 AM
your random generator is bias towards this person
call your cludia i am sueing
Posted by: elizabeth a airhart | Sunday, March 08, 2009 at 08:02 AM
Since I'll spend the whole day in a fog I'm hoping I read correctly and am leaving a comment for the second chance. Kudos to Claudia; what could the unspeakable question be?
Posted by: Bonney | Sunday, March 08, 2009 at 08:23 AM
Claudia won my blogiversary contest, too. She must have some sort of fix going on!
Posted by: Carole | Sunday, March 08, 2009 at 08:43 AM
Prize eligibility hoop jumping sans coffee and one sleep hour.
Very. Very. Cruel.

Happy Daylight Saving Time? Or whatever--Happy Spring!

I think it is cool that Claudia won...I love reading her blog too.
Posted by: DK | Sunday, March 08, 2009 at 09:09 AM
Does this have to do with underpants?
Posted by: Hypatia | Sunday, March 08, 2009 at 09:16 AM
I hate the time change too, but I do love daylight AFTER I get home from work. I'm looking forward to more outdoor activity in the evenings.
Posted by: Brenda | Sunday, March 08, 2009 at 09:18 AM
Happy Sunday! Sorry, I have to run, I've got about 100 clocks to reset...
Posted by: Lisa H. | Sunday, March 08, 2009 at 09:27 AM
You are sweet to go for a second go round.
Posted by: Carla | Sunday, March 08, 2009 at 09:33 AM
Inside jokes are lovely. And here's my I can ask Norma anything question--Does daylight savings time really matter if the sun never comes out? Hmmm, who's grumpy about a foggy day? I suppose that's 2 questions.
Posted by: Collette | Sunday, March 08, 2009 at 09:40 AM
Hey, second chance is my middle name!
I wish they would just leave us on DST all year round. (I like that it's light till 9pm in summer) Why do we have to keep changing back and forth?
Posted by: gayle | Sunday, March 08, 2009 at 09:44 AM
So...this means we have to run all the questions through Claudia? She does have a full time job, ya know...
Thanks again for blogging!
Posted by: Betsy | Sunday, March 08, 2009 at 09:54 AM
I never win anything, but I do hate the switch between dst and st every year.
Posted by: Mary Beth | Sunday, March 08, 2009 at 09:59 AM
Come on, Random Number Generator aka Sandy! Pick my number!
Posted by: Marilyn | Sunday, March 08, 2009 at 10:16 AM
Congrats to Claudia!
I hate losing an hour of sleep-for no fault of my own. We all love you, Norma. But bring on the sun and warmer weather. I can actually have a garden this year-sniff, sniff and yay at the same time.
Posted by: Ann | Sunday, March 08, 2009 at 10:22 AM
Well, I didn't win Powerball so maybe the Norma Random Number Generator will pick me - god(dess) knows I deserve to win something these days :P
Posted by: Leslie | Sunday, March 08, 2009 at 10:32 AM
I see you are about as fond of DST as I am...
I used to get confused about the direction of time-change because the Oberlin dance department had Fall Forward and Spring Back as their major mid-semester performances.
Posted by: naomi | Sunday, March 08, 2009 at 10:35 AM
Hooray for Claudia's win. Now give me stuff, too. :-)
I feel betrayed by the clock this morning - we have a 2 year old's birthday party at three, and I slept in until what I thought was 9 (thanks, husband!) but was really 10. It'll be 11 before I get off my ass and start cleaning. ah, well.
Posted by: sueinithaca | Sunday, March 08, 2009 at 10:37 AM
I'm going to have to find this Claudia person...is it wrong to pray to a random generator thingy???
Posted by: Gretch | Sunday, March 08, 2009 at 10:41 AM
Yesterday I didn't need to win anything (and I couldn't think of anything five-ish to say, but happy bloggoday anyhow; you do give good blog, dear, and constantly, unendingly, forever, I might add) but today, I need a pressie, so I'm throwing my sleep-deprived hat in the ring, OK?
Posted by: Lynn | Sunday, March 08, 2009 at 10:44 AM
I have to tell you how much i love the your use of the word *mwah* DH and I met 39 years ago this month, for the first 15 months we existed on phone calls and Mwah was our way of making out on the phone. We still use it to this day!!!
Congrats to the winner!!!
Posted by: grace | Sunday, March 08, 2009 at 10:50 AM
Congratulations to Claudia. And of course she deserves it--look how many prizes she gives away!
And I really hate DSL ... it's like jetlag without the pleasure of going anywhere.
Posted by: --Deb | Sunday, March 08, 2009 at 11:20 AM
Well, I remembered to change the few clocks I have that still have to be change manually. So, I've sprung forward, it was 60° out yesterday and probably will be today, and none of the garden centers I've tried have onion sets in yet; I have boxes on my deck, right next to the house, so they're protected, and my first planting of each year is scallions on the deck. They'll live just fine and tide me over until the real garden is prepared and producing.
Posted by: alice | Sunday, March 08, 2009 at 11:24 AM
Ooh! I'll give it a try. I'm at work, in a fog that pretty much resembles jet lag, but without the exotic locale. So unfair.
Posted by: Rachael | Sunday, March 08, 2009 at 11:24 AM
Have been thinking about you as I plant my peas, beets, kale, lettuce, spinach and carrots this weekend. Although we had 6 inches of snow last Monday, it is in the 70's this weekend. And,sadly, I'm probably 3 weeks too late on the peas--it gets hot here so fast that they'll probably be gasping about the time they should be producing . . .
Posted by: Donna in Northern VA | Sunday, March 08, 2009 at 11:43 AM
I deeply envy your garden.
(I'm sure we all do, but that's 5 words of complete truth).
Posted by: Kelly | Sunday, March 08, 2009 at 11:48 AM
The clocks are changed, but I find myself wondering how many people are going to be late to the rabbit play hour today....
Posted by: BunnyQueen | Sunday, March 08, 2009 at 11:48 AM
I enjoy your daily posting so freakin' much, that if you say "comment", I freakin' must. Who needs a freakin' prize? Just keep freakin' postin' very day! Cause we, your lurking fans, freakin' adore you! (Now there were five freakin' f...'s did that push me over the edge? Well, if so, freakin' deal.)
Posted by: Tammy | Sunday, March 08, 2009 at 11:58 AM
Private giggles are such fun. ;)
Posted by: DebbieB | Sunday, March 08, 2009 at 12:00 PM
Apparently I was sleeping on the job and missed both the contest and the second change contest. LOL Ah well. Congratulations to Claudia :-)
Posted by: faerielady | Sunday, March 08, 2009 at 12:08 PM
I am so confused by the time change today. I have set some of my clocks an hour ahead, some an hour behind, and some have not been changed. Does anybody really know what time it is?
Posted by: Joannah | Sunday, March 08, 2009 at 12:10 PM
F*#$ yes! Draw again (me! me!) ;0)
Posted by: Andi | Sunday, March 08, 2009 at 12:11 PM
Horray for Claudia's win!
Random number generator, please pick me next!
Posted by: Kris | Sunday, March 08, 2009 at 12:18 PM
Ok, ok... so maybe I need more coffee. I understand now. Happy blogiversary Norma... and please shove my name onto the random number generator's list. :P
Posted by: faerielady | Sunday, March 08, 2009 at 12:22 PM
Congrats to Claudia! Enjoy today before the snow tomorrow!
Posted by: Carol | Sunday, March 08, 2009 at 12:33 PM
Oh You Do Have Fun.
Thanks for many laughs and garden advice! I have doubled (maybe tripled?) my garden size this year. I think this only means I will have 10 times as many weeds.
Posted by: Lynn | Sunday, March 08, 2009 at 12:34 PM
Yay for Claudia winning, well, she's a winner anyway you go about it.
Springing fucking forward. meh. The daylight hours would've been longer anyway. I actually don't care one way or another but it would be nice if they'd leave it just one way. cranky morning here..
Posted by: marianne | Sunday, March 08, 2009 at 12:44 PM
I thought of you yesterday as the weather is finally feeling spring-like and I realized my starter plants will be arriving in about a month (I ordered pre-started plants from Territorial Seed because it's hard for me to germinate seedlings in my apartment) and the annual summer gardening will start soon! :)
I barely notice DST because we keep such weird hours around here, going to bed whenever without really any regard to when we need to get up for church or work.
Posted by: Jena (the yarn harpy) | Sunday, March 08, 2009 at 12:53 PM
I'm laughing my ass off over here. How do these things happen??!?!
Posted by: claudia | Sunday, March 08, 2009 at 01:18 PM
Hey! I didn't comment on the first draw, since I won recently, and thought it was a little cheap of me to enter again already...but you TEMPT me with a second opportunity... we'll let yer number generator be in charge...
Laughter, private or otherwise, is pretty much always good.
cheers!
