"Do I sound orgasmic?" she asks coyly.
Yes, I believe I do. I had dinner with the girls at Restaurant Phoebe in Montpelier last night. It was good. Very, very good.
I'll run away with you whether you are male or female good. I'll run away with you if you have three horns on your forehead good.
My dinner consisted of:
A nice zinfandel
Caesar salad
Seafood paella
Black raspberry sorbet
...as well as tastes of braised rabbit and triple chocolate mascarpone flour-free torte from my tablemates' plates.
Oh, yeahhhhhhhhhh. And the company was stellar and the conversation bright and fun.
That was how Gale's book signing ended. It started quite well, too. It was very well attended, and a wicked amount of fun with small-world stories aplenty. I love Montpelier. I love my people. (This does NOT negate the fact that, in general, I hate people. Do not get any crazy ideas. Srsly.)
I'll tell you more about it soon. Right now, though, I'm going to bed with the take-away dish of paella. Good night.
Reading this at 10:44 p.m. CA time means I get to go to bed with visions of blackberry sorbet dancing in my head... Think I'll be sharing desert with the girls when I go to Sunday lunch tomorrow? I think it's a necessity now. What's the point of a weekend without a little decadence, I mean really.

Sorry, I missed it, Norma! Dang, so many fun things going on in Vermont this weekend! I was exhausted and went home.

I wish I could have had dinner at that restaurant! Oh, and been with you all, too.

Ohhh... you do not hate people. Liar, liar, pants on fire. That dessert sounds heavenly.

I hope to get my book signed by Gale sometime this coming year. I'm not so sure I can follow it up with the meal you all shared, though. Yum!

Oh, wow, that sounds so good ... I can't even remember the last time I went out to eat .... Yum!

I wish I could have come to the event. And the dinner. Definitely the dinner.
I have to go get a towel to wipe the drool off my keyboard now...

Sounds awesome. I LOVE Vermont -- would like to live there someday.

It was Gale, so I'm going to let the people business slide, but watch it, missy. You're walking a dangerously thin line. You're going to be a people person soon if you're not careful.

Ok I'm here to report that Norma is not exaggerating one bit about the day, or the meal AND she was impersonating a people-liking person quite convincingly. Maybe it was the Zinfandel..or the Montpelier good vibes....wish you all had been there too.

Your dinner sounds divine. Quick question on the collection of warm items for the migrant workers: Are there children involved or just adults? Thanks.

The torte sounds divine! Now I want to visit Vermont again! I could happily eat all of the desserts mentioned (as a vegetarian, I'll have to give away all the meats)!
