Weather permitting, I'll be winging my way to Utah this afternoon (Thursday).
On My To-Do List:
- Hug Anne. Search for good-looking guys named Jeff that we can do together for old time's sake. (Get on that, will ya, Anne?) Meet Digger!
- Buy Blessed Juno soap; hug Laurie
- Catch up on old times with Kim. Hug.
- Send full report to Sandy and Cookie on the four bathrooms.
- Hug Margene, hug Smith, hug Moxie
- Aw, fuck it. Hugs all around. I don't need to list everybody, do I?
- Eat at Silver Fork Lodge; gain five more pounds
- Drink tea with Marcia (Well, maybe not. The TSA confiscated her tea. hahahaha)
- Exchange lawyer jokes with Susan
- Behold Margene's Mountain:
- Eat fry sauce
- See Great Salt Lake
- See Park City (Sadly I don't have 36 hours to spend there)
- Stalk Heather Armstrong? (Nah, she's got enough trouble. She doesn't need a nutso Vermonter stalking her. But it would be fun, wouldn't it?)
- Take a ride in Isela's new car
- Try on one of Mim's shawls (Get well quick, Mim, so we can see each other Saturday!)
- Possibly experience a SLC valley inversion (this is, I'm told, nothing like a yoga inversion)
- Meet several as-yet-unknown Utahns
- Knit, knit, knit
- Mail mittens to Rachel
- Eat, drink, shop, and be merry.
As of the time I'm writing this, I have not yet started packing. Yes, I know -- I'd better get on that. I'm debating whether I'm going to bring the laptop. On the one hand, it's one more thing to carry. On the other hand, if I'm stuck in an airport for any length of time, I might like to be connected to the outside world. Well, you know: Wherein "outside world" is defined as The Blogs. I've got some easy knitting lined up to take, and the book on CD, and new comfy boots. I should be all set.
See you on the other side.
...of the continental divide!!
Have a terrific time. Take lots of pix!

Take the laptop, we want daily blog posts, dontcha know.
Safe travel and have a wicked pissah time. (Be sure to say that when you are out there, the Utahns love it for some reason. Just ask Carole.)

Have a fantabulous time Norma! Do take the laptop- if you're flying via Boston you'll need it. Quite a bit of snow will be falling this afternoon.

I hope the weather doesn't interfere with your plans! Have a blast and while you're hugging all those people, hug 'em for me, too. Enjoy MY room, too.

My TSA guy was oddly disappointed to find tea in that tin....I guess they thought they finally had a terrorist...and just threw it aside in disgust when he realized it was TEA. So, you can have a cup of tea, for sure! Glad you got that little piece from the Times...shall I book a bobsled for after lunch? Safe flight!

I hope to be one of the "as-yet-unknowns". Have a safe trip! There's a little snow coming, so hopefully no inversion!

I love Utah at this time of year. One of the best Christmases I had was when we were snowed in and unable to go anywhere except on skis.
Bring the laptop so we can hear about your adventures in real time!

Um. Good luck with that Thurs PM travel thing. Don't come to Boston!!
Posted by: claudia | Thursday, December 13, 2007 at 01:44 PM
Nope, no inversion this weekend. Storm's a-blowin' in. I'm so glad I'm not out on the GSL today (Monday I was trying to not fall off the back deck of the boat in a big storm right in the middle of the lake. I don't recommend that type of introduction.)
If you do make it to the lake shore, I'd love to come along. I can nauseate you with loads (and loads. and loads) of info about it. I do work there, after all.

Have fun. And when you get back, you can tell us if East Coast cold is colder than Utah cold.
