I've really been enjoying your garden photos- especially the peonies. We don't get them here; they don't like the heat. I've always loved them though.
Have you read Ruth Stout's books on gardening? Amazon has "Gardening Without Work: For the Aging, the Busy, and the Indolent".
I tried her system and it really does work. My plants even survived a couple of weeks of neglect with the summer sun beating down on them. And no rain.
